December 10, 2007 – Albany, NY – Nicole M. Helmer has been appointed co-chair of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Women of Excellence Committee. The committee is responsible for the Women’s Business Council’s Annual Women of Excellence Awards. This is Helmer’s second term as co-chair of the committee.

The Women of Excellence Committee annually awards a select group of women who have established themselves as business leaders and role models within the Capital Region community. As co-chair of the committee, Helmer’s main responsibility is to plan for the Annual Women of Excellence Panel & Luncheon.

“It is such an honor to be part of a group that celebrates the excellence of women in the Capital Region. I am excited to have the opportunity to celebrate the 2008 Women of Excellence,” said Helmer. “Once applications are out, I encourage everyone to nominate the outstanding women in their lives.”

Debby Goedeke, the Convention Services Manager for Albany County Convention & Business Bureau, will serve as Helmer’s co-chair.

The Women’s Business Council promotes the full participation and leadership of women in the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce and Tech Valley’s economic development, community, and government.

Helmer is a senior associate at the Capital Region law firm Tully Rinckey, PLLC.
