March 19, 2008 – Albany, NY – Immigration law is an ever-evolving and controversial topic, with new laws, regulations, and proposals abounding practically everyday. In order to assist the people who are substantially impacted by these laws, Tully Rinckey PLLC is pleased to announce the addition of an Immigration Law practice area at the firm.
At the helm of the new practice area is
Artan Serjanej, Esq. Serjanej brings not only his legal expertise on immigration, but also his own first-hand experience with the grueling process of filing immigrant petitions and managing cultural and language barriers.
Serjanej entered the United States in 1990 after petitioning and securing his own political asylum from Albania. He began his education by completing his own petitions to receive his green card, social security card, and traveling documents. In 1997, Serjanej became a legal citizen of the United States. That same year he received his Bachelor of Arts from Binghamton University before going on to complete
his law degree at Syracuse University College of Law.
“When working with my clients, I often draw from my own experience as an immigrant,” said Serjanej. “Since I’ve been through the process myself, I can identify with their feelings of anticipation and stress. The rules involving immigration are rigid and unforgiving. Having an attorney by their side who has been through the same situation they are going through now has a calming affect.”
His work will allow Tully Rinckey to assist immigrants in every step of the immigration process, from arrival in the United States to realizing their citizenship. Serjanej’s practice area includes the preparation and filing of all types of temporary and permanent visa applications, including those for fiancés, adopted children, students, and employment. He is also experienced in petitioning for asylum and immigration defense.
Serjanej plans to lead several seminars on the basics of obtaining visas in the upcoming months.
