A United States Permanent Resident Card, also known as a green card, is an identification card attesting the permanent resident status of an alien in the United States. The green card serves as proof that its holder, a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR), has been officially granted immigration benefits, including permission to reside and take employment in the United States. The holder must maintain his or her permanent status and can be removed if certain conditions of such status are not met.
The rules and regulations to obtain a green card differ depending on the situation. Some of the most common are:
Adoption Green Card
If you are a United States citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) adopting a foreign child under the age of 16 you are eligible to apply for an adoption green card.
The attorneys at Tully Rinckey PLLC often assist hopeful parents, many who are members of the Armed Forces, in their wish to adopt a child from a foreign country.
