Adopt An Angel Campaign Corporate Challenge Partners

Seven area organizations demonstrated their commitment to the local community by participating in the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Northeast New York 2010 Adopt An Angel® fundraising campaign. The campaign ran from November 18, 2010 through January 2, 2011. All proceeds will help grant wishes to children in the 518 area code.

Adopt An Angel featured the stories of six children whom have had their wish granted, or will be granted, by the Foundation. Each child ambassador’s story was told on a paper angel that resembles an ornament. The paper angels were available for a $3 donation at several area malls including Colonie Center and Crossgates Mall.

Employees from each participating organization volunteered at an Adopt An Angel donation booth at one of the malls, for a three hour shift. The seven participating corporate challenge teams raised a total of $8,047. These teams were from BlueShield of Northeastern New York, CDTA, GTM Payroll Services, LexisNexis, MetLife, Tully Rinckey PLLC and UnitedHealthcare. In addition to being a corporate challenge partner, BlueShield of Northeastern New York is the campaign Presenting Sponsor. Other major corporate contributors include First Niagara Bank, the Wish Benefactor Sponsor.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast New York serves the 15 counties comprising the 518 area code. The chapter grants 90 to 100 wishes each year and has granted more than 1,150 since 1986.
