A different side of the court for Albany Police officer Michael Geraci Junior. This time appearing in front of a judge to face charges.
But not alone, Geraci was joined by his attorney and his family. Including his dad Schenectady Police Chief Michael Geraci Senior and a sea of his collegues on the force all backing him against charges of assault and filing false reports.
Cheryl Coleman, Geraci’s attorney, said “these charges by everyone who has seen them so far to say they are stretch would be a compliment.”
Michael Geraci Senior., Schenectady Police Chief, has feelings like Colemans. “Myself, my daughter, two sons, son-in-law are all member of law enforcement, integrity is paramount,” Garaci Senoir. said.
Geraci Junior faces charges in connection to the Decemeber arrest of 73-year-old John Behrmann. The man claims the officer roughed him up by pulling him from a police van , leaving him covered with these bruises. But, Geraci claims Berhmann was drunk, kicking and wouldn’t get out. Now it’s up to the courts to hash the story out.
Police also arrested Behrmann again this week. He admitted to breaking a window at his apartment building. Berhmann is currently in Albany County Jail.
Geraci is currently out on his own recognizance but remains suspended from the police while this case is worked out in the courts.
