Albany Officer Could Face Assault Charges

An Albany Police Officer, suspended after the allegations of using too much force, could now also face criminal charges.

On December 30th, Officer Michael Geraci, Jr. was involved in an arrest that may have gone too far.

72-year-old John Behrmann was arrested that day for disorderly conduct, after he would not leave a local restaurant. According to reports, Behrmann left in a police van…the incident happened later in the police station garage. Behrmann’s attorney showed photographs of his injury, as evidence of what he says happened.

Geraci is already suspended from the Albany police force, but formal criminal charges of assault could still be filed.
