Carr Graduates from FBI Citizens’ Academy


Tully Rinckey PLLC, a full-service law firm in the Capital Region, is pleased to announce that Thomas Carr, Esq. has graduated from the Fall 2008 FBI Citizens’ Academy.

Designed to promote a partnership and strengthen the relationship between the FBI and the community, the Citizens’ Academy is attended by business, civic and religious leaders who are each nominated by a Bureau employee or a previous Academy graduate. Classes are taught over a period of seven weeks by special agents in charge of the field office, their senior managers and senior agent experts.

Throughout the seven weeks, Carr learned about practical problems involving evidence collection and preservation, FBI jurisdiction and congressional oversight, structure and operation of FBI field offices and satellite agencies, and policies and issues including ethics, discipline, communications, drug enforcement, civil rights, and future criminal trends. In addition, he had firearms training as well as training in fingerprinting, forensics, technology and more.

Carr serves Of Counsel at Tully Rinckey PLLC, practicing criminal defense. He is a former Bureau Chief in the Special Victims Unit in Rensselaer County, as well as former New York State Assembly Minority Deputy Legislative Director.
