A “Turkeys for Veterans” program is making free turkeys available to active-duty and retired military personnel.
The program is sponsored by Hannaford Supermarkets and Tully Rinckey PLLC law firm.
Turkeys will be distributed from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the law firm’s headquarters at 441 New Karner Road in Albany.
Turkeys will be available on a first-come, first-served basis with proof of military ID. There is a limit of one turkey per person.
This is the program’s fourth year. So far in the Capital Region it has provided turkeys to more than 300 soldiers, veterans and families of military personnel serving overseas.
Of the law firm’s 41 attorneys, 20 percent are veterans of the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Navy or are currently serving in the U.S. Army and National Guard Reserve.
The firm’s founding partner, Mathew B. Tully, is a lieutenant colonel in the New York Army National Guard who recently received a Purple Heart while serving in Afghanistan.
