When there’s been crime report out of Troy, odds are Detective Sgt. David Dean was quoted in stories, heard on the radio or appeared on TV as the department spokesman.
Dean retires from the Troy Police Department on Tuesday, Aug. 25 after 20 years on the job. Here’s what Dean said today:
“My dad retired here as a sergeant after 42 years and my son David is a rookie on midnight’s working uniform patrol. I mention that just to let you in on what my perspective was as I talked about issues involving our department and Troy in general. This was never a “job” for mis, this was family. I leave here believing in the city of Troy, our citizens and last but not least our fine police department. I will be here enjoying Troy from the sidelines watching it continue to grow and succeed.”
Dean will work for Tully Rinckey PLLC, an Albany based law firm, after leaving the department.
