Tully Rinckey PLLC, a full-service law firm in the Capital Region, is pleased to announce that founding partner Mathew B. Tully, Esq. has been admitted to the Supreme Court of England and Wales as a solicitor.
With one billion dollars in European-American trade conducted daily, a small number of American attorneys are answering the call for global attorneys with international savvy and the credentials to match.
Tully studied with the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice and passed the very demanding three-day Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test to become one of the few American attorneys licensed in a foreign country. The exam tests a candidate’s familiarity with English statutes, cases, practice rules, and the principles of common law.
“Studying with Oxford and passing the grueling three-day entrance exam was one of the high points of my legal career. I am truly honored with the opportunity to practice law not only in America and England but also before several European Courts,” said Tully. “This will assist not only my personal practice, but will also extend to the Albany area as a whole. Tech savvy companies will no longer need to farm out their international law work to New York City-based firms. We can keep the money here in the community.
Tully will be one of the few attorneys in the Albany area with full rights to practice before the European Court of Human Rights, European Court of First Instance, and the European Court of Justice, as well as most courts in England and Wales. This distinction makes Tully Rinckey PLLC one of the only Albanybased international law firms in the Capital Region.
