Graig Cortelyou
Chief Marketing Officer
As the firm’s Chief Marketing Officer, Cortelyou directs the firm’s overall marketing, strategic planning and corporate communications. He reports directly to the Founding Partner and is responsible for overseeing all employees and initiatives in a number of departments and areas, including marketing, public relations, client relations, business development, the firm's computer network and information technology.
Since joining the firm in early 2007 Cortelyou's development of the firm’s marketing initiatives has lead to exponential growth in new and existing markets. He planned and directed office expansion projects in Washington, DC while implementing strategic marketing initiatives that allowed the office to triple in size in less than two years. Cortelyou also develops and directs the firm’s new media, social media and technology during a time when the firm is becoming a national leader in effective, non-traditional law firm marketing.
In addition, Cortelyou directs all public relations and publication efforts to ensure the firm has a continuous national print and television media presence, while overseeing the production of all articles, newsletters and brochures developed to communicate with current and potential clients. He also oversees the firm's in-house client relations department, and in his operations role, is responsible for long-term development and implementation of technology and computer systems.
Cortelyou graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego with a double major in Business Administration and Graphic Design. While pursuing his degree he lived in London and worked in advertising for the luxury goods magazine Quintessentially.
Cortelyou is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), Legal Marketing Association's (LMA) as well as the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Cortelyou has also previously served as Executive Producer of the Tully Rinckey Legal Power Hour on WGY 810 AM. He currently lives in downtown Albany and in his spare time enjoys playing in a band, golf and traveling. He has been featured as a marketing expert in the Wisconsin Law Journal and has also been recognized by the Times Union as one of Albany, New York’s Up and Comers.
