Graig F. Zappia, Esq.

Partner

Graig contributes to the versatility of Tully Rinckey PLLC’s legal services for Capital Region residents. He was brought in to the firm to strengthen its real estate practice group. He represents private real estate owners, real estate developers, and banks and other institutional lenders in their real estate transactions. Graig’s understanding of the loan process from all angles enables the firm to advise individual and corporate clients throughout the closing process. He provides representation across a range of real estate legal matters, including closings, title disputes, title insurance, contracts, zoning, variances, transfers, inheritances, lease disputes, and adverse possession.

Additionally, Graig provides estate planning services for his clients, such as will and trust preparation. He also represents small businesses in asset acquisitions and corporate formations, and advises clients in foreclosure and bankruptcy litigation. He also practices civil litigation and employment law, representing employers and employees in Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) cases.

Prior to joining Tully Rinckey PLLC, Graig served as the founder of The Zappia Law Firm and their in-house title company, Prosperity Title Agency. In 2009, he founded this general practice law firm, which focused on real estate, small business and litigation. Before starting his own firm, Graig served as an associate attorney at Upstate New York law firms in Rochester, Clifton Park, and Latham.

Graig has been admitted to practice in all New York State courts, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Western and Northern Districts. He is a member of the New York State and Albany County Bar Associations.

Graig received his juris doctorate from Albany Law School of Union University in Albany, N.Y.  While attending Albany Law, he served as an appellate advocacy team member, coach and executive board member of the school’s Moot Court Program, in addition to serving as an article editor for the school’s Environmental Outlook law journal. He received a bachelor’s degree from Siena College in political science.

Graig resides in Cohoes with his wife, Kendra, and their English bulldog, Mookie. Outside of the office, Graig enjoys running and golfing, and rooting for the Siena Saints. He is an active member of the Latham Rotary Club, the Siena College Pre-Law Mentoring program, and is a past coach of the Mechanicville Assumption/St. Paul CYO basketball team.
