Carr Named Partner at Tully Rinckey PLLC
April 16, 2009 – Albany, NY – Tully Rinckey PLLC is pleased to announce the promotion of Thomas J. Carr, Esq. to partner at the firm. Carr focuses his practice in the area of criminal defense.
Carr, who first joined Tully Rinckey PLLC in 2006, provides a full range of criminal litigation and courtroom services to the firm’s clients, including misdemeanor and felony cases from pre-arraignment through trial.
Before entering private practice, Carr worked in the District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, NY, where he prosecuted serious crimes including narcotics and gang violence. Carr also served as a DWI prosecutor for Delaware County and was the Deputy Legislative Director for the New York State Assembly Minority. Subsequently, he held the position of Bureau Chief in the Special Victims Unit in Rensselaer County.
Additionally, Carr is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, the Albany County Bar Association and the New York State Defenders Association. He is admitted to practice in the courts within New York State, the United States Federal Court for the Northern and the Southern Districts of New York, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Born in Galway, Ireland, Carr earned both a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Law and a law degree from the National University of Ireland.
