Local Law Firm Takes New Road to Justice

Tully Rinckey PLLC is already a nationally recognized federal employment law firm, but it is now much more than that in Virginia. At its Arlington, Va law office, the firm has launched three new practice areas outside of the federal sector sphere. The multi-state law firm has hired attorneys who will practice in family and matrimonial law, criminal defense and bankruptcy law, building on its standard menu of legal services in the areas of federal sector employment and labor law, military law and security clearance representation.

“Our slogan has always been ‘Lawyers for Life.’ Adding these three practice areas now allows us to provide our Virginia clients with most of the legal services they will need throughout their lives,” said Greg T. Rinckey, managing partner of Tully Rinckey PLLC. “For years we’ve served as the go-to law firm for federal employees, and now we’re the same for anyone in Virginia with a divorce, custody, criminal or bankruptcy issue.”

The three practice areas, while new to Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Virginia office, they are not new to the firm. Tully Rinckey PLLC currently employs several attorneys who practice family & matrimonial law, criminal defense and bankruptcy law at its headquarters in Albany, N.Y. The Virginia office at 1300 Wilson Blvd., Suite 320 opened in May 2011.

In Virginia, Tully Rinckey will be able to handle matters relating to Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, debtor’s rights, creditor’s rights, taxation, and foreclosure defense. More and more, people feel financially overwhelmed because of prolonged economic problems. For example, in 2011 Chapter 7 filings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia totaled 16,998, while there were 177 Chapter 11 filings and 8,679 Chapter 13 filings, according to court statistics.

Virginia’s criminal defense practice will guide clients through the complicated issues and penalties surrounding violations, misdemeanors and felonies with a focus on DWI, traffic tickets, assault, domestic violence, burglary, fraud, embezzlement as well as a host of criminal matters. In 2011, there were 28,162 driving under the influence convictions in the commonwealth, according to the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.

The family and matrimonial law practice will assist clients with divorce, separation, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements as well as child custody, visitation and support arrangements.

In an effort to build a trusting relationship first, Tully Rinckey PLLC over the next month will offer free one-hour initial consultations to anyone with a family & matrimonial, criminal or bankruptcy matter. The free consultations will provide guidance on what should be done before moving forward and allow clients to build a comfortable relationship with an attorney before entrusting them him or her with their legal issue.
