Michiko is an Associate Attorney in Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Ladera Ranch office. Her focus is on state and federal labor and employment law claims, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA). Michiko also handles settlement negotiations, contract negotiations (including severance agreements), as well as advising clients on contract disputes, disciplinary actions and all areas of civil litigation.
In addition to practicing law, Michiko devotes much of her free time to volunteering with animal rescues and sanctuaries. She originally attended law school with the intent of going into animal law to seek justice for animals, but soon discovered a home in employment law. She now applies her strong sense of fairness and justice to advocating for her clients.
Michiko earned her bachelor’s degree from Occidental College, where she earned a scholarship to study German for one month at the Goethe-Institut in Berlin and was a Fulbright Finalist for Germany. After earning her bachelor’s degree, Michiko went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Linguistics from California State University, Long Beach. She earned her Juris Doctor from Trinity College.
