Sara Furlow is an associate attorney in Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Washington, D.C., office, where she primarily focuses her practice on federal labor and employment law, handling discrimination, whistleblower retaliation, unfair labor practice, and proposed disciplinary matters. She represents clients in federal and state courts, as well as before administrative bodies. Sara is familiar with all areas of litigation, from lengthy trials to appeals, and has a lot of experience achieving favorable outcomes through mediation.

Prior to joining the firm, Sara advocated for children in foster care for eight years. She volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, a friend of the court for abused and neglected children, for three years prior to working as a staff attorney with Maryland Legal Aid. Sara’s representation of children extended beyond the courtroom, and she has a lot of experience with special education matters, including initial assessments for special education services and ensuring the implementation of those services through an Individual Education Program.

In her spare time, Sara can always be found as a volunteer on various task forces and outreaches, as well as participating with outside bar organizations. Through these programs, Sara exemplifies what it means to be a team player and can always be relied upon whenever she is needed.

Sara earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh, and she is currently admitted to practice in Maryland and New York State.
