Siana informs her practice of immigration law with a potent combination of personal and legal experience. Her personal experience is derived from her struggle entering North America as a Jamaican immigrant and eventually securing the right to live, receive a quality education and work in America. She understands the struggles and hardships those wishing to enter the U.S. go through on a personal level, and this understanding plays a central role in the way she works with clients and practices immigration law.
Siana’s legal experience stems from countless hours spent aggressively and affordably defending clients regarding a range of immigration issues. She has successfully handled numerous immigration court matters and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals, which resulted in asylum, protection under the Convention Against Torture, withholding of removal and cancellation of removal for clients.
Siana has extensive experience practicing before the Batavia and Buffalo immigration courts and has also represented clients in other states. Since immigration is a federal practice, Siana is available to represent clients on matters from anywhere in the country. She is especially adept at resolving matters relating to deportation defense, family-based immigration and naturalization-focused immigration, among other related matters.
Beyond her legal experience, Siana’s strongest trait as an immigration law attorney is her tenacity as she fights for the rights of her clients and refuses to give an inch to opposing counsel. Additionally, just as no two immigration law matters are exactly the same, Siana recognizes that no two legal strategies should be exactly the same for her clients. This is why she works with clients to develop a custom approach to resolve immigration law matters.
Siana’s legal experience has halted deportation and secured U.S. citizenship for numerous clients. Siana adeptly navigates to resolve a wide range of immigration legal matters on behalf of clients, making her a true full-service immigration law attorney. She is well equipped to handle matters relating to affirmative and defensive asylum, to include non-immigrant and immigrant waivers for those who may have had prior convictions or prior immigration violations. She is able to handle for clients virtually all types of citizenship, family-based green cards and special immigrant petition issues. This includes items relating to consulate processing, adjustments of status and special petitions tied to religious matters, worker status, the Violence Against Women Act, widows and a range of other classifications.
Beyond this, Siana is highly experienced at securing U visas for crime victims and T visas for human trafficking victims. She has secured numerous fiancée visas, among a range of others. Siana continues to work with numerous clients regarding post order services, such as stays of removal, releases from detention and deferred action requests, among other related issues. Siana is well-equipped to handle virtually any immigration law need you may encounter and will aggressively and affordably defend your rights.
Siana draws upon her years of prior experience with two Western New York law firms, as well as experience working for the University at Buffalo in its immigration services department, to fight for the rights of her clients. In these roles, she honed her immigration defense skills and addressed a multitude of matters involving international scholars through the J-1 Visa Program. She assisted professors and scholars in securing permanent residency and became immersed in issues involving refugee and asylum law and deportation defense. Siana’s Volunteer Lawyers Project externship with the organization’s immigration practice group built her solid understanding of the nuances of immigration litigation.
Siana is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the American Association of Notaries. She is also involved with the Minority Bar Association of Western New York, New York State Bar Association and University at Buffalo Law Alumni Association. Siana is a past National Black Law Students Association executive board member, which is the most expansive student-run organization in the United States. She remains involved with the organization as an Advisory Board member.
Siana earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University at Buffalo Law School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.
