We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Collections Associate to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing outstanding client balances, supporting collection efforts, and working collaboratively with attorneys and clients to ensure timely payment resolution while maintaining professionalism and excellent client service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As a Collections Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the Finance team by managing collection activities and ensuring outstanding balances are resolved efficiently. You will:
- Conduct outbound contact with current and former clients in accounts receivable with current or past-due balances
- Process incoming payments, including checks, credit cards and municipal vouchers
- Communicate with attorneys and support staff across the Firm in responding to billing inquiries
- Maintain and update internal documentation of collections activity
- Initiate, process and transmit monthly invoices for clients using the firm’s billing system
- Voucher billing activity for court assigned work performed by Firm attorneys
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 1 year of administrative, billing, or customer service experience
- Billing or collections experience preferred, ideally in a law firm or professional services environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
