As Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Human Resources Manager, Shirley is responsible for all firm activities
associated with human resources. In addition to serving as the firm’s benefits administrator, she works with staff on employee relations, employee engagement, recruitment, new hire on-boarding, training and development. She also manages and processes payroll, and is the administrator for the firm’s 401k employer matching plan. She is responsible for the firm’s compliance with state and federal labor laws.
As the head of Tully Rinckey PLLC’s recruitment team, Shirley leads the search for attorneys and support staff who best fit the firm’s values. She advertises job openings within the firm, vets applicants’ resumes and conducts initial interviews. Once someone is hired, Shirley assists with welcoming the person to the firm and advises the person about firm policies. She also identifies and develops strategies to improve organizational development, performance, growth and direction.
Shirley came to Tully Rinckey PLLC with 20 years of experience as the Director of Finance and Human
Resource Manager for a nonprofit agency that provided special education for preschool children with
special needs. There, she served as the nonprofit’s benefits administrator, processing all health, vision, dental and COBRA enrollments. She was also responsible for payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, billing and grant work.
Shirley attended Union College for accounting and finance and Russell Sage for commercial art. She was an assistant manager and a consumer lending officer at Chase Manhattan Bank for 11 years.
