As Tully Rinckey America Service Corporation’s Business Operations Manager, Vinny Roman Jr. is primarily responsible for project management and reporting and assisting senior leadership with overall firm strategy, objectives and goals. Vinny assists the Global Chief Operating Officer with day-to-day operations of the firm, including the development and execution of short- and long-term initiatives related to the implementation of the mission and vision of the firm, centered around business growth. As the firm enters new markets, Vinny will be creating and implementing successful, results-oriented strategic objectives.
A military veteran, Vinny served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 16 years. As a Gunnery Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, Vinny was the Operations Chief for the reserve company of more than 150 reserve marines, where he ensured combat readiness while maintaining accountability of over $10 million in weapons systems, communications gear, vehicles and optics, among other duties. As Staff Sergeant with the 1st Battalion 2nd Marine Division, Vinny was accountable for more than 200 Marines during his company’s deployment twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Prior to joining Tully Rinckey, Vinny was Vice President of Operations and Business Development for JDog Junk Removal and Hauling, where he developed and maintained operational business plans to include all program requirements. He managed labor hours, billing costs and branding image awareness and was responsible for all operational systems and processes. In addition, he provided input to the development of operational strategy, geographic research and the development of new and emerging products and services. Previously, Vinny was the Chief Operating Officer of the Eastern New York American Red Cross, where he was responsible for personnel management of all business operations managers and coordinators, regional administrative staff, facilities/fleet management staff and community services staff. He served as a coach and mentor and directed financial analysis, monitoring and forecasting of funds for the region. Vinny also served as the Logistics Manager for Integra Optics, where he was responsible for ensuring effective and timely implementation of daily operations for the logistics and maintenance departments.
In addition to his duties at Tully Rinckey, Vinny has been the Regional Coordinator for Capital Region Toys for Tots since 2010, where he organizes logistics for events and maintains and manages relations with Capital Region audiences and businesses to promote the Toys for Tots campaign in 14 counties. He also oversees the distribution and collection of 800-plus donation boxes that cover 1.4 million square miles throughout the Capital Region and is responsible for Toys for Tots regional budgeting, fund-raising and community outreach.
Vinny has been the recipient of several awards, including the Why I Care award from SEFCU in 2018; the Business Corazon award from the Centro Civico Inc. of Albany in 2018; the Albany Business Review’s 40 Under 40 award in 2016; the 40 Under 40 Rising Latino Star award from the Hispanic Coalition of New York in 2014; the Toys for Tots Coordinator of the Year in 2014; the USO Leadership Award for Outstanding Service in New York in 2005; the Recruiter of the Year in New York City in 2004 and 2005; and four Commendation Medals in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Vinny serves as a board member on the Veteran Employment Council and the Veteran Connect Center Committee for the Center of Economic Growth.
