Caleb Ortega is a law clerk in the firm’s Austin, Texas office. He primarily assists with state and federal employment and is also a member of the firm’s military practice team.
A native of McAllen, Texas, Caleb earned his B.B.A. in Management from Texas A&M University in 2018. Following graduation, he commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps on active duty, serving as a logistics officer where he held both platoon and company command. He left the service as a Captain and returned to Texas to pursue his legal education.
Caleb earned his J.D. from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2025. While in law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the school’s international law journal, President of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society, and a competitor in the Alternative Dispute Resolution program. He was also a member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Board and participated in the school’s Trademark Clinic. While in law school, he clerked for different firms representing small businesses and large corporations. He also clerked for Little League Baseball’s in-house counsel, leading up to and during the Little League World Series. He is a certified Texas mediator and a member of The Sports Lawyers Association Next Gen Committee.
