Salvatore Agosta

Salvatore V. Agosta, Esq. is Senior Counsel in Tully Rinckey’s Syracuse office and a member of the firm’s Civil Litigation team, which includes the handling of cases across a wide range of the firm’s practice areas. Sal’s extensive litigation experience includes expertise in Appellate practice, Legal Research, Legal Writing, Civil Court Procedure, Discovery Strategy, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Sal’s extensive portfolio of legal writing and research has won cases for his clients, and in some cases changed or clarified the law on the Appellate level.

Outside of the Courtroom, Sal has represented corporate clients as General Counsel with a full range of business law support in the form of commercial contracts, intellectual property/trade secret protection, and legal consultation in marketing, product development and design, human resources, and customer relations.

During his 16-year career, Sal has effectively represented a broad spectrum of clients in New York State, from product manufacturers and small businesses/entrepreneurs, musical artists, and community organizations, to injured workers and police officers. This representation has included the deposition of countless witnesses, the hiring of industry experts, on-site inspections, planning litigation strategies, and the drafting of legal briefs, discovery papers, business agreements, real property contracts, and Court documents.

Sal earned his bachelor’s degree at SUNY Binghamton University School of Management, with a concentration in Finance. After college, he began work as a Paralegal in the New York City area because of a life-long interest in the law. Soon after, Sal attended Syracuse University College of Law, concentrating on Intellectual Property Law and graduated cum laude, after receiving a scholarship for his work in Technology Commercialization at the New York State Science and Technology Law Center.

After spending his legal career in the New York City area, Sal is now an active resident of the local community in Syracuse. To support his local neighborhood and explore his passion for community outreach, outdoor sports, sustainable gardening and fine art, Sal has become an active member of the Westcott Neighborhood Association, the Meadowbrook Gardens Association, the Syracuse Poster Project, and an annual volunteer at the Westcott Street Cultural Fair.
