Tara McCoy is a Law Clerk in Tully Rinckey’s Latham office where she assists attorneys in the area of state and federal labor and employment law. Tara graduated Magna Cum Laude from Albany Law School in May of 2026 and is pending admission to the New York State Bar.
During law school, Tara interned at the State University of New York Construction Fund, providing support to the legal department on a variety of matters related to construction projects spanning the 64 SUNY campuses across New York. She also interned at the Family Violence Litigation Clinic at Albany Law School’s Edward P. Swyer Justice Center, representing victims of domestic violence in family court on family offense, custody, and child support matters. Tara also interned for the chair of the New York State Senate Judiciary committee, drafting and reviewing legislation proposing changes to judicial processes across the state, including amendments to the CPLR, Family Court Act, and the State Constitution.
Tara also remained involved on campus during her time at Albany Law School, as a Co-Chair of the Women’s Law Caucus, and a member of the Family Law Society. She also volunteered at Elder Law Pro Bono Day and Veteran’s Law Pro Bono Day and served as a student representative on the Kate Stoneman Committee and the Gender Fairness Committee for the Third Judicial District.
Prior to law school, Tara graduated from the University at Albany with a bachelor’s in political science and worked at the State Senate where she assisted with both legislative and constituent matters.
