We're looking for a sharp, experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Albany, NY. This is a critical role that works directly with our finance leadership team to drive our financial strategy and support our continued growth.
The Role
As the Senior Accountant, you'll be a key member of our finance team, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. You will be responsible for bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, payroll and tax and trust account management. This is an ideal role for a proactive and analytical leader who can both manage day-to-day priorities and provide high-level insights to firm leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Firm Accounting, Bookkeeping & Reporting: General ledger accounting and reconciliation, assisting with the preparation of all month end close, annual close, month end and quarterly reports.
- Strategic & Operational Planning: Work with the CFO to support firm budgeting, cashflow and financial trend analysis to provide strategic recommendations to management on a routine basis.
- Tax, Audit and Review: Ensure tax compliance and work with external CPA firms. Manage internal audits and continuously improve internal controls to support our evolving business.
- Cash Flow & Accounts Management: Manage cash flow forecasts, ensure that accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll entries are properly entered into the firm’s accounting systems.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven experience in cash and accrual basis accounting.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, including managing a team.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and abstract reasoning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $75,000 – $125,000
