General Overview of Article 15 of the Human Rights Law in Employment

Overview:

In this complimentary CLE, Amanda Smith, Esq. a Partner in Tully Rinckey’s Buffalo office, will explore the foundational civil rights statute prohibiting discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations, education, and credit. This session will provide an overview of the law’s scope, key protected classes including race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and more of the most recent amendments expanding rights and enforcement mechanisms.

Topics covered in the CLE will include:

  • The purpose of Article 15;
  • protected bases under the Human Rights Law;
  • what is considered discrimination in violation of the law; and 
  • the legal options that an employee may have in bringing an action under the law.

To participate, please register using the form on this page. Upon registering, you will receive a link and instructions on how to access the CLE.  A timed agenda, supplemental course materials, an attorney affirmation and a course evaluation will be circulated on the day of the CLE.

After the CLE, please fill out and return the completed attorney affirmation and course evaluation to cle@tullylegal.com. Upon receipt, we will provide a certificate of CLE completion.
