BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WICZ) — A Binghamton business took center stage at this year’s Veterans in Economic Transition Conference (VETCON), earning top honors in a competition designed to spotlight emerging veteran entrepreneurs across New York State.
Iron Valor Landscape and Design, a veteran owned company based in Binghamton, won the first place prize of $3,000 in VETCON’s annual business plan competition. The win comes after the company delivered a standout pitch to a panel of judges during the two day conference, held from December 2–3 in Albany.
The competition put together by VETCON, gives aspiring or newly formed veteran owned businesses the chance to present their ideas, receive expert feedback, and gain exposure to state agencies and potential partners.
This year’s conference, hosted by Tully Rinckey PLLC, drew more than 600 attendees and over 60 New York State agencies. The event featured workshops, seminars, and networking sessions.
