ALBANY, N.Y. (13WHAM) — We’re continuing to break down some of Governor Kathy Hochul’s proposals from her State of the State address.
Hochul’s plans include a crackdown on 3D-printed “ghost guns,” which are virtually untraceable because they’re privately made. The governor wants to pursue criminal charges for anyone who sells, shares or distributes digital instructions for these firearms with a license. 3D-printed guns would have to be reported to the criminal gun clearing house.
Governor Hochul also wants to see a first-of-its-kind ban on ghost guns to preempt their production.
