Tully Rinckey Firm Opens Rochester Office

Tully Rinckey PLLC, the Albany-based law firm owned by veterans that has been expanding westward in the past year, is opening its Rochester office today in the Four Corners business district.

The new branch, in the Powers Building at 16 W. Main St., features Peter J. Pullano, who has practiced criminal defense law in Rochester for more than 20 years. Pullano, who joins the firm as a partner, has handled thousands of criminal cases including violations, misdemeanors and felonies.

As a solo practitioner, he has defended several high-profile and complex criminal cases, including some involving federal and state capital offenses. Pullano has also represented defendants at the appellate level, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Third and Fourth departments of the Appellate Division, state Supreme Court.

Pullano, a graduate of Albany Law School of Union University, provides a platform for outstanding service to clients in virtually every aspect of criminal defense. The emphasis on clients extends to Tully Rinckey’s numerous statewide legal services, which include Social Security law, military law, bankruptcy, employment law, security clearance representation, legal ethics and attorney discipline, family and matrimonial law, and trusts and estates, among others.

“Our continued and sustained growth is due to our disciplined focus on exceptional client service,” said managing partner Greg T. Rinckey. “Based on our research, the market is ripe for Tully Rinckey in Rochester. Our firm provides a unique, efficient and innovative approach to the practice of law that we believe will lead to exponential growth for our firm in Western New York and the best possible results for our clients in that part of the state and beyond.”

Tully Rinckey was founded by Mathew B. Tully after he escaped the World Trade Center on 9/11. After moving to the Catskills in 2003, he opened a law firm in Albany a year later with Rinckey, a former Army captain and Judge Advocate General’s Corps attorney.

Tully is a lieutenant colonel with the New York Army National Guard. In April 2012, he was deployed to Afghanistan — his third overseas deployment since founding the firm. His service has earned him the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge.

Last year, Inc. magazine ranked Tully Rinckey No. 1,672 on its Inc. 5,000 List of America’s Fastest Growing Companies. The firm’s high ranking is attributable to its 173 percent growth in revenue between 2008 and 2011, according to a release. The firm was also recognized by the Albany Business Review in 2012 as the third fastest growing business in New York’s Capital Region.

The firm opened an office in Syracuse in early September and one in Buffalo in early January. It also has offices in Washington, D.C. and Arlington, Va.
