Syracuse, N.Y. — Tully Rinckey law firm is partnering with Price Chopper and Market 32 to give out 125 free Thanksgiving turkeys to local veterans and active-duty military officers in Syracuse.
Since 2009, this ‘Turkeys for Veterans’ event has provided free turkeys for families of more than 2,000 active duty and retired members of the military. The firm hopes to expand that number by 125 new military families, during Monday’s event.
Tully Rinckey has had a long history of firm employees with military service–including the firm’s two founding partners.
Tully Rinckey’s managing partner, Sabastian Piedmont, says providing these free thanksgiving turkeys is something he looks forward to each year.
“It’s always a good thing to give back to the community,” said Piedmont. “Especially our veterans.” Piedmont says his mom was a member of the AirForce, which helps him connect with the veterans he encounters through this event.
“Especially around the holidays, some veterans may not have even been able to afford getting a turkey this year,” said Piedmont. “So it’s just a good way to show our recognition and appreciation for their service.”
Active duty military personnel and veterans are only required to bring proof of service to qualify. One turkey will be given per person, while supplies last.
