While attending law school, Shaniqua worked as a Law Clerk for the Public Employees Federation (PEF), New York’s second largest state employee union, where she researched arbitration decisions and drafted legal memos involving disciplinary matters such as insubordination, time and attendance disputes, and employee misconduct allegations. She also drafted and reviewed contract proposals and handled employee grievances as part of their Contract Administration unit.

Most recently, Shaniqua worked as an Associate Counsel with the Public Employees Federation, where she handled contractual grievances on behalf of state members and presented grievances before an arbitrator during the triage or settlement conference process.
