Michael is a senior counsel in Tully Rinckey PLLC’s White Plains office, where he focuses his practice on family and matrimonial law. Michael is also a member of the firm’s education law practice, representing parents and students and assisting in commencing Due Process Complaints, advising on communications with school personnel, and addressing common issues that overlap with education and family law. He also has experience assisting clients with bankruptcy, landlord/tenant, and will matters, along with matters related to Power of Attorney and health care proxy.
For close to a decade, Michael has practiced family law across New York City, including the five boroughs, the lower Hudson Valley are a, Westchester and New Jersey. Throughout his time practicing, Michael has gained a vast amount of experience in family and matrimonial law, with specific experience in divorce, custody, child support, family offense, neglect/abuse, guardianship, and SIJS (Special Immigrant Juvenile Status) matters. He is a certified divorce mediator and a member of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation (NYSCDM). Michael is also a member of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA).
Prior to joining the firm, Michael volunteered for the New York Court Access to Justice Program, which offered counseling to low-income individuals in landlord/tenant matters in Bronx Housing Court. He also served as an article editor for the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association. Michael served on the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Animals and the Law from 2014-2017, and also completed a judicial internship for Hon. Mark C. Dillon, Justice of the Appellate Division, Second Department, in 2011.
Outside of his practice, Michael enjoys running and is an avid endurance runner, having completed multiple marathons and 50-mile and 50k ultramarathons.
