Matthew P. Ricci joined Tully Rinckey PLLC in 2022 and focuses his practice on federal sector labor and employment and New York State employment law out of the Albany office. Matthew has experience litigating cases on behalf of employees at the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the New York State Division of Human Rights (NYSDHR), and in both state and federal courts. He also has extensive experience negotiating settlement agreement on behalf of federal and state employees, defending and taking numerous depositions and preparing successful oppositions to summary judgment motions.

Prior to joining Tully Rinckey PLLC, Matthew practiced as an associate attorney with a personal injury and medical malpractice firm in Albany, New York. In this position, he litigated personal injury and medical malpractice claims advocating for seriously injured clients in both New York State Supreme and federal courts to help them receive proper compensation for their injuries. He has also represented clients for constitutional rights violations in federal court.

Matthew is currently admitted to practice law in New York State and admitted to the United States District Court Northern District of New York. He earned his bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego, with a concentration in political science and minors in criminal justice and communication/social interaction. Matthew received his juris doctor from Albany Law School where he also worked on the Albany Government Law Journal as a sub-editor.

When not working, Matthew enjoys spending time with his two kids, playing golf, and watching football.
