Veterans in Economic Transition Conference (VETCON)

Overview:

The Tully Rinckey Foundation proudly presents its fifth annual Veterans in Economic Transition Conference (VETCON) this fall.

VETCON is the premier annual conference dedicated to the education and professional growth of veterans through networking with entrepreneurs, state agencies, and industry leaders. 

What to Expect:

VETCON 2021 will feature a range of seminars and hands-on workshops, networking opportunities and more!

Highlights for this year’s conference include:

  • Support, advice and direction to startups and existing Veteran-owned businesses
  • Seminars and presentations on topics including issues that confront new businesses and how to do business through technology and marketing.
  • Networking opportunities with the inclusion of notable Veteran business owners, investors and financial institutions. There will be specific rooms made available to connect investors with potential businesses, and networking between attendees.
  • The New York State Office of General Services will have representatives from state programs and agencies that will help guide veterans toward useful programs that already exist. Representatives from OGS will help instruct and educate Veteran business owners as to the process and requirements in becoming certified as a New York State Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) in order to increase participation in New York State’s contracting opportunities.
  • The annual Business Plan Competition, in which aspiring veteran business owners have the potential to win monetary awards, grants and prizes to help launch their business.
  • The inaugural Veterans in Business Awards (VIB), where five Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses that have exhibited exemplary achievements will be recognized for their accomplishments in areas of  patriotism, leadership, community service, business activity, and more.
